Q.I have some wonders about Florida Law. I purchased a certified used car with warranty and it has not been more than 30days and I am already having problems. I know in NJ you have 30 days to return the car and cancel the deal and or choose a different car. Does florida have something like this? Anyone can give me some advice???
A.Florida does not have a lemon law for used cars. However a warranty is a contract. and you may have recourse through the warranty. what is the length of the warranty? are the problems you are having covered by the warranty? If covered have you returned the vehicle to the dealer and asked them to make the necessary repairs. you need to do this within the limits of the warranty. if you have and are still having the problem(s) them you may have to take them to court. No recourse on returning the car. Take it to the dealer to see if the problems fall under the warranty. If they don't, then talk to the General Manager and explain the situation, and see if he will work with you any. Big Tip: Don't go all balistic, for if you stay nice and calm, then dealers will be more helpful. The yellers and complainers never get anything done.
