Find A Lawyer New York
Q.I live in Schenectady, New York. I wish to bring suit against a personal injury lawyer operating in New York. I hope to find a lawyer who will take my case or one who will advise me about doing this myself. (I realize the do-it-yourself mode may be "hubris" - but I'm determined to see this through one way or another.) I have no intention of simply "finding ---X - type--- of lawyer" right away. I know there are gutsy, bright lawyers with alot of character and energy out there - and now I know, also, that there are thugs who have law degrees and, frankly, I'm a bit too nieve to discern the difference in a few short interviews... How does one find a remarkable man or woman who is also a lawyer to take your case? How does one find a lawyer willing to sue another lawyer? ANY advice or suggestions???
A.A good start would be to contact the Grievance Committee of the Supreme Court of your state. The GC is subsidized by the lawyers and generally won't do a damn thing but you will start hearing about lawyers that are not afraid to break the wall of silence and protection. Look in the Title 42 statutes and see if anything applies. Good luck to you and make it as loud and public as possible. The GC will try to make the whole thing confidential but if you work it right..... Check out the Ethical Canons or Ethical Considerations or Ethical Implicative Suggestions or whatever they call them now.
