Q.Anyone can help me? I need a good nj lawyer as soon as possible!..dealing with nj dyfs? i need a lawyer asap b/c im dealing with ignorant nj dyfs social services and they are really screwing with my family and trying to take my child away for false acussations. anyone who knows about the terrible nj dyfs ????
A.I would advise one of two ways. 1. Contact the local courthouse and the clerk who is assigned to child protection cases and ask her to give you well known child protection attorney's. 2. Look in the phone book under family law or child law and ask them specifically if they have/do work in child protection. It is important they know the system and how things work in yoru county. That is why I suggest the clerk first since she could give you known attorneys' they work with. Unfortuntaly if your child/ren are removed, then you will be appointed a public defender at no cost if you can not afford an attorney. But the good news with that is they are the PD's that work directly with child protection, so they know the system and how it works. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT you get someon who knows what they are doing. I see all to often parents hiring attorny's who waste not only your time but your money cause they have NO IDEA what they are doing or what child proteciton laws are. Do not allow this to happen, I answered your GAL questions as well. One thing you need to also know about the GAL is she is there for the best interest of your child, you need to listen to her and allow her full access to you and your child. Do not hold back, the truth will come out. And I can tell you here in my state GAL's hold A LOT of weight to the judge's.
