Q.Does anyone know where i can find a pro bono lawyer in nc? i need a lwayer, but can not afford one. it is not a big deal type of case, but i know it would be better for me to have one, than to ask for a court appointed one. Maybe even some one who would do it for the military, as i am a military wife. Can anyone help me???
A.Your local bar association can usually hook you up with one. My late dad was required to do a few probono cases every year, all attorneys should. Depending on what the case is about, I would recommend going to the judge who will be trying you and mention due to mitigating circumstances, you need a court appointed attorney. Who ever they appt if you are not satisfied with them, the will represent you another. Being a military wife, depending on branch, perhaps you could contact the courts for this branch for advice.
