Q.Where can I find a lawyer to sue my former employer? I worked for Wal-Mart. I was assaulted and battered by the store manager. She is on probation for it. The same day, I was unloading a truck in which the freight was not secured and I received a head injury that resulted in a stroke. The manager was informed prior to the accident about the condition of the truck. She took no action to secure my safety. She did not offer me any medical attention and I had to drive myself to the hospital. Wal-Mart subsequently fired me for missing time due to being ill from my work related injury. I have a voice recording of the interim manager stating that he is terminating my employment for missing time due to my illness. I have since then been denied the ability to purchase toilet paper at the same store. An associate directed me to leave the store immediately because she will not serve me. I believe that I have been wronged by Wal-Mart and need to know what my rights are. I live in Massachusetts. Is there a lawyer out there that can help me?

I am guessing from your question that you are seeking a lawyer to work for free. Consider the circumstances under which you would work for free and see if you can aply those same circumstances to the lawyer. You should also note that other than the workers comp injury, you haven't described any damages that you could recover. Need more information. But, you should show it to a local lawyer. Most will answer one question without charge. There will always be an attorney to help you sue a large company. However, what did you do to mitigate the damages incurred? What safety measures did you take to insure against injury?
