Find A Lawyer In Atlanta
Q.Can anyone recommend the best child custody lawyer in the Atlanta/Metro Atlanta area? I have a crazy situation that has GOT to be resolved and it will take an excellent lawyer with tons of experience to help me. I do not make a ton of money, so hopefully one that is also willing to work with my budget. Maybe accept payments in smaller increments, rather than one huge amount. This involves young children.
A.a good start would be check with clerk of the courts such as superior court in your county or juvenile court, they often deal with the same attroneys on a daily baisis and know who is good and so on. Just walk in and ask for a list of attorneys contacts. Most of this attorneys are seasoned at family matters and with the judges and opposing attaorneys. If you want the BEST--you can expect to pay (in Little Rock, AR--ATL is probably even higher) 10K. Even here, I don't take a custody case for less than $2500-$5000 down and I charge $150/hour. Custody gets expensive fast---being an attorney is a buiness just like everything else......they have overhead and families to take of and expect (and deserve) to get paid. You may be better off finding a newer attorney who is eager for experience and willing to research and fight for you but for cheaper. Sometimes the 'best' in town does not mean the best for you.
