Find A Free Lawyer
Q.I am trying to find a free lawyer in R.I. I have exhausted my searches!? I have tried legal services and the volunteer lawyer program and they will not accept me. I really need some help on this as soon as possible. Anyone can give me suggestion or ideas or advice???
A.I'm not sure about free, but what you may want to do is contact your local bar association(county or state) and ask for the contact information for the committee chairperson for the area of law that is appropriate to your situation(criminal, real estate, tax, wills, etc.). These committees keep their peers up to date on the latest developments in that area. I've found from personal experience that it's the best way to get good legal help without paying an arm and a leg.
