Family LawQ.I have some wonders that related to Family law If you are suposed to get your child for the hollidays but can not get them on the day noted in divorce decree due to work can the parent with the custody of the child file felony charges on you for not following the decree? And also can the parent who is getting the visitation for there week take the child out of the country? A.if you can't take your child for the day they cannot file felony charges against you. however if you try to take the child on a day that is not yours they could take you to court for custodial interference. which may or may not be a felony in your state. also a parent could take the child out of the country if you don't have a clause in your divorce decree specifically banning it. my aunt had to ban foreign travel with her kids b/c her husband is from egypt. I am not a lawyer, However, Failure to take child is not a felony but it is grounds to go back to court and lose visatation and grounds to keep you from getting full or joint custody, when my mom took me over state lines it was considered kidnapping, Other Questions : Criminal LawyerWhat exactly is a criminal lawyer?
