Q.I guarantee "no plea bargains" won't work. It will make every drunk-driving arrestee whose prior record has him facing mandatory jail or other harsh mandatory punishment hold out for a trial - and make him hire a lawyer specializing in all-out defenses of such cases. And - having both prosecuted and defended criminals from my law-school days in the early 1980s through lawyer days in the late 1990s - I can tell you that the defense always has the advantage in that situation. That's my opinion on "no plea bargains". What is your opinion??? Any ideas to share???

For those whose parents paid the price of a recommended defense attorney, often having to take out a second mortgage on their house to pay the legal bill, Cahn's office agreed to let the pothead kid get youthful offender treatment, with no permanent criminal record. Down the line, Rice will also be found to be getting kickbacks for her tough DWI stance, maybe from the vendors who will profit from the equipment DWI drivers will have to buy. Former DA Cahn ended his career in prison for corruption. These crusading DAs all turn out to be misfits, sadist and liars, only looking out for number one. If you don't believe me, talk to the firefighters and cops dying of WTC "cough" thanks to Rudy Giuliani, a former US Attorney who father worked as "muscle" for the Gambino crime family. When Rudy was Mayor, he ignored all public safety laws to get downtown Manhattan open, exposing tens of thousands of New Yorkers to airborne poisons still in the air from the WTC collapse.
