Drunk Driving Lawyer

Q.I just was charged with Drunk Driving in Princeton, NJ. I blew a .09 on the BAC. I only had 6 drinks. I wasn't hurting anyone and didn't crash. Why is there a law against this if no one is harmed. I can understand if I had hit someone or crashed into a car or something. But all I had was a couple of beers and ran into a checkpoint right near princeton new jersey. Anyway, does anyone know a good drunk driving lawyer that can protect my rights and get me off this dwi? I would spend any amount on legal fees to make this go away and not have it hit my driving record. It's not like I was wasted, just had a few drinks and got pulled over by the police and given a breathylizer. They didn't even give me a roadside sobriety test. Also, should I hire an attorney in Princeton, or another town that is closer to the courthouse?

A.I too believe that the limit for alcohol consumption is too low. The older laws that allowed you to have a few more drinks are much better! For instance, I do have my share of alcoholic beverages and I due sometimes enjoy a nice happy hour. To say because I weigh 160 LBS that I'm not allowed to consume more than 3 beers is foolish. I do believe because I have been drinking for so long and in large quantities that I am able to handle my alcohol much better than lets say a 21 year old. I personally feel that I could have a 12 pack of beer and be fine to drive, at least with one eye open. Now you have been charged in Princeton, New Jersey and I'm assuming you attend college there. Great school.. If I were I would talk to a lawyer in Princeton NJ or even Belle Meade NJ. I think there are several pretty good DWI Lawyers or in your case perhaps a DUI lawyer. Because you were right around the limit perhaps the apparatus (Breathalyzer) was faulty. Hopefully you did not tell them how many beers you had. Contact a good attorney and he should be able to get you off the charge or at least a PBJ. You need a good new jersey drunk driving attoney asap. I would have the lawyer question the validitiy of the breathylizer ala BAC. Since you blew a .09, you are very close to the .08 New Jersey Limit. A good attorney will be able to challenge this by stating that the breathylizer was not calibrated correctly. Do whatever you can to get out of this unfair charge. Police should looking for hardened criminals not folks who like to have a couple of drinks and drive. The severity of the recent drunk driving laws are ridiculous and totally brought about by the pschycos at MADD (mothers agaist drunk driving). This is a fringe organization that is misguided in it altruism. MADD is a semi terroist organization that is single minded against your average driver.
