Q.I am being sued for Divorce in Harris County, Houston. I am British and living in England and have no contacts in Texas. All the assets of the marriage are in the US and I desperately need to find a good divorce lawyer who can help. Can someone give me your help or suggestion???

If so, was a hearing scheduled for "temporary restraining orders" AKA an injunction? Were you served with the petition, or did you just hear about the divorce - IE no papers? FYI, a person who was married elsewhere, but moved to Texas, can file divorce if they live here for over six months. If you have a child living in Texas for over six months, the Texas courts have jurisdiction. In any event, the court can order you to appear here, but you may be able to have the other party pay for the trip. Tell me a little more about your situation (any children, how long married, where, etc.) and either describe the petition or I can find it, if already filed, at the courthouse using your name to search.
