Divorce Lawyers Chicago
Q.I'm in need of a lawer, divoice lawer. Can any one help me to get some information? I'm living in Chicago now and nearly divorce. Any experiences or ideas for me as well???
A.I don't know your situation, but I needed an inexpensive but good lawyer for my divorce in 1989. The Kent School of Law was recommended to me by a lawyer friend. It's in downtown Chicago...I don't have the phone number handy. The lawyers on their faculty handle divorces and involve their students in the process. It costs money, but not as much as a regular lawyer. Kent is a small but respected law school. Northwestern U. School of Law also has a law clinic, but I remember that they were "booked up" with cases. If kids are involved, and you can afford it, Jeffrey Leving is supposedly the king of father's rights in Illinois. Some of it is probably hype, but I have heard two positive comments about him from other sources. I would tell you who NOT to use (mine), but I'd probably get what little of my ass I have left sued right off. Be VERY Careful. Insist on references. I didn't, went solely on my interviewing, and boy am I sorry. Be wary of lawyers who won't return phone calls or get involved in the case until the day of court. This eliminates about 99%, so probably the best way to get a good lawyer is to apply to law school today!
