A.Before you take someone's legal advice, please ask him if he is licensed to practice law and to give out legal advice. Ask him where he received his legal training, in what jurisdiction and where he is licensed to practice law. You can check for his name is the Canadian Legal Directory in any library. My guess is that you will find he is not a lawyer and has no ability to be giving you legal advice, let alone on a defence to the charges against you. My advice to you is that you should get the professional advice of a criminal lawyer. In my opinion: 1. The Criminal Code of Canada does not only apply to Members or employees of Parliament. It applies to everyone in Canada. 2. You may not cite Louisiana State Code. The laws of jurisdictions outside Canada do not apply in Canada. If you need a Chinese-speaking lawyer, you just call the law Society of Upper Canada. Their telphone number is the telephone book. They have a Lawyer Referral service and they can probably give you 2 or 3 names of criminal lawyers in Ottawa who speak your language. If not, you can probably get an interpreter.
