A.Try talking to the Uncle and explain how hard it is, see if he is willing to assign you the "proxy" for his mother. What that means is that you act on his behalf for his mother since he is so far away. He (the uncle) still retains the rights and remedies he was originally granted but it would allow you to make some decisions also. Otherwise your only legal option is to file documents with the courts to become the legal guardian for this woman. OR You can get an attorney, a doctor who can say that she has an enough stable mind (if that is so) and get her to change the power of attorney and living will over to you and your husband. If that can not happen, and if you and your huband can not deal with it, send her back or put her in a good home.
